Introduction
Baby Cry Analyzer ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we don't do:
- Audio Recordings: Your baby's cries are NEVER uploaded, stored, or transmitted from your device
- Personal Information: We don't collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal data
- Location Data: We don't track or store your location
- Usage Analytics: We don't use third-party analytics services
- Advertising Data: We don't have ads, so we don't collect advertising identifiers
How the App Works
Baby Cry Analyzer uses on-device machine learning:
- When you record a cry, the audio is processed entirely on your iPhone or iPad
- Apple's CoreML framework analyzes the audio locally
- Results are displayed immediately
- No audio data leaves your device
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored ONLY on your device and never transmitted:
1. Usage Counter
- How many times you've used the app (for free trial limit)
- Stored in: iOS UserDefaults and Keychain
- Purpose: Track 3 free analyses before purchase
2. Purchase Status
- Whether you've unlocked unlimited access
- Stored in: iOS UserDefaults and Keychain
- Purpose: Remember your purchase across app launches
- Note: Apple's StoreKit manages actual purchase verification
3. Device Identifier
- A randomly generated UUID stored in Keychain
- Purpose: Prevent abuse of free trial (stays on your device only)
- Not linked to your identity or Apple ID
4. First Use Date
- When you first opened the app
- Purpose: Local analytics for you to see usage stats
In-App Purchases
When you make an in-app purchase:
- Apple processes the payment through their secure system
- We receive a transaction receipt from Apple (but no payment details)
- Apple's privacy policy governs payment information
- We only know that "a purchase was made" – not who you are
Keychain Usage
We use iOS Keychain to store:
- Usage count (persists even if app is deleted)
- Purchase status (persists even if app is deleted)
- Device identifier (for anti-abuse)
Why Keychain? This prevents users from deleting the app to reset their free trial. This data is stored securely in iOS Keychain and never leaves your device.
Third-Party Services
We use minimal third-party services:
Apple StoreKit
- Handles in-app purchases
- Governed by Apple's privacy policy

Apple CoreML
- On-device machine learning framework
- All processing happens locally
- No data sent to Apple or our servers
Children's Privacy
Our app is designed for parents/caregivers to use, not children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Data Retention
Since we don't collect data on our servers, there's nothing for us to retain or delete. All data stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app (except Keychain data, which persists to prevent free trial abuse).
Your Rights
- Access: All data is on your device – you have full access
- Deletion: Uninstall the app to delete UserDefaults data
- Portability: No applicable since we don't store your data
- Opt-Out: Simply don't use the app
International Users
Since all processing happens on your device, your data never crosses borders. There are no international data transfer concerns.
Security
We take security seriously:
- All data stays on your device (most secure approach)
- iOS Keychain uses hardware encryption
- No network transmission of sensitive data
- We don't have servers that could be hacked

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Posting the new policy on this page
- Showing an in-app notification (for material changes)

Since we don't collect personal data, most GDPR obligations don't apply.

California residents have specific rights. However, since we don't collect personal information, we don't sell data, and there's nothing to request deletion of on our end.
